“这个时代结束了。”
但又和之前成千上万个“时代”的结束有什么区别？
从科学的角度来说，是2006年快结束了。仅仅而已。
但出于人往高处走水往低处流的粗俗原理，我们总情不自禁的去结束那些还剩一口气的苟延残喘的科技产品。
我们没有留意到的是，藕断丝连，前脚离开一个高科技泥潭的我们，后脚早已跨入另一个换了酒瓶的高科技陷阱。
而我，也不过是站在网络沼泽里一面下沉一面弹琴的流浪网民……
从小学开始我就看着朋友手里的掌上游戏机从基本的方块Tetris变成红极一时的GameBoy，中间遇到过至今不明为啥出名的“宠物机”和“文曲星”，又目睹GB的逐渐消逝和GBA的流星效应，直道今天被DS和PSP淹没。
说实话，长期两手空空的我既没有特别羡慕也没有特别自负。要说服自己很简单，最惯用的答案是“这个系统很快就会被淘汰”。
因此我选择了即便被淘汰也能继续娱乐的电脑……
我击败过英雄无敌I，我搞垮过Win3.0，我申请过6位的QQ号，我下载过张学友的mp3。
10年前不过如此。
10年后的现在你跟我这是另一个时代，它有PS3，有Xbox360，有Wii，有Vista，有Mac OS X，有Nano，有Zune，有这有那……
没有区别。
不是英I，我不过是在击败英V；不是3.0，我不过是在搞垮XP；不是QQ，我不过是在使用live messenger；不是张学友，我不过在下载陈奕迅……
如今我在使用某台和第一台386没有本质上区别的手提电脑，它们都有鼠标，都有键盘，都有漏洞无数的操作系统，都有让我发泄和娱乐的平台。
你当着我的面大喊“这是次世代！”有什么用？工业革命不是比谁喊得大声，也不比谁的口水喷得更远。更糟糕的是，我们期待的不过是正常的科技产品，请不要在上面烙个次世代，它不配，我也不要。
文章的开头是“这个时代结束了”，在我看来“这个”两字可以指很多名词——
PS2，Xbox，GC，XP，iPod Mini …… 它们原本处在潮流的尖端，我们，或是它们的创造者，冷笑着把它们拎起来，残酷的丢弃在通往废弃物和回收站的道路上。
假如所谓的高科技是我们把上世代变成回收品，把次世代变成上世代，把“不存在”变成“将要来”，那我们是否不再需要“活在现在”？每日起床，睡眼惺忪之时，我们向前看齐，期盼着明天又有什么新产品？
这样一来站在演讲台上大喊“This is the end of an era, go NEXT-GEN！”可笑么？我觉得很可笑。
我现在只想趴在客栈的吧台上休息……

That’s planned obsolescense, a damned evil practice. Everything that you own now is already obsolete, and everything that you buy today will be obsolete tomorrow. It’s how the big electronic giants make money – make you think that what you own now is shit, by putting out marginally better* goods every 3 months, so that you’ll always be spending money. Truth is, nothing really changes, just like you said.
It’s not the people who promote it that’s laughable – it’s the people that fall for it. And there are oh-so-many of those.
‘The end of an era’ is an overused marketing catchphrase, and never with a hint of truth in it. I’ll believe it when I see something better come along, and the GUI goes the way of the command prompt.
*if that word is even applicable. I don’t see how any MP3 player sold today is better than the one I bought 3 years ago, except for more capacity that I don’t need. I still think the Nokia 8210 are the 8310 are the best mobile phones ever. The only thing my w800i has over them is the convenience of not having to carry another thing in my pockets.
数码产品用到现在，的确已经转变为“够用就好”的心情呢，现在看到那些为了一块新显卡而欢呼的人真不知道要怎么说才好……
不过，看到新推出的MP3啊、手机啊总会想“如果能搞一台来玩玩有多棒啊”……
虽然知道老是去追逐这些到头来会很空虚……但人大概就是这样需要新鲜和刺激吧……
对了……DF想找的那三张恰好找到了两张……慢吃……

when it comes to technology I agree it’s important we keep pushing the edge, all companies should be fed on that, I have no right to stop people from pursuiting this fashion…
Yet today’s marketing scheme goes the wrong direction: Lure the consumers first, then figure how to produce it.
Or wrose, produce something that doesn’t work, then try *patching* it.
Oh well, I would just wait and see when the next-gen festa go back on a healthy diet, before that, let’s keep eating macro soft-hamburgers along with apple-pies at Saucy Preystation.

升级显卡……其实我现在就要换我妈的台式……因为不玩游戏可以选择比较差的显卡（想买便宜的GF5没得卖啊）……

2000不用就足够了……
科技进步真是太感动了……
